⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Main Hall, Summerhall
Front row seats, so close you could feel the effort. Chris is already on the treadmill when you walk in, boxed inside a huge scaffolding cube. That cube does everything: running track, bedroom, soda and of course, a podium. It keeps changing and so does the show.
Ben Norris has made something excruciatingly good here. Part play, part actual workout, and it really lands. The delivery is smooth right up until the treadmill hits a snag mid show (gaffatape, apparently). The performer barely broke stride. “Edinburgh Fringe Baby!!!!” he shouted, and honestly it made the moment better. Very Fringe. The cast and crew just rolled with it.
I was hooked on every moment. It felt like Chris was really running somewhere, and dragging all of us along with him. By the end the whole room was on its feet.
I’d go back for another serving of this one. Highly recommended.
